Bright April 2011

I forgot to post this earlier, but here’s a quick video of the trip up to Bright I did in April. Enjoy!

On the way home from Bright last weekend, all the traffic on the Hume Highway was stopped. There had been a car crash up ahead, and we watched as a helicopter landed to airlift someone out of there. Naturally, we all got out of the car, to try and see what was going on. A few guys rode past on BMX bikes. We couldn’t see much, and it was only when we drove past the crash afterwards that we saw a four-wheel drive overturned in the trees that we realised how bad it was. I hope that guy’s okay.

While we were walking around massive trucks (You think a truck’s big when you’re driving past it? Try walking past it!) and other cars, I came across this vintage Holden. I just loved the two-tone blue and the silver trim.

Last weekend, I went up to Bright and Mount Buffalo. I got to meet some awesome photographers, and we were lucky enough to have excellent weather (although it does get very cold very quickly at night), and mostly clear skies. It’s really rather picturesque up there, especially with all the autumn leaves at this time of the year.

This is the view from The Horn, looking approximately north, I think.

Yup, the suspension bridge is in fact held together with duct tape.
